Autoridad Nacional de los Servicios Públicos (ASEP)
ASEP is Panama's wired and wireless communication certification system. In order to export wired/wireless communication devices to Panama, it is compulsory to obtain CoA from ASEP (Panama Public Service Authority). Since ASEP only proceeds with the approval of telecommunication carriers, in the case of Mobile phones, device approval is made by telecommunication carriers (Telefonia, Claro, etc.). Approval of telecommunication equipment can be applied online through SATEL (Sistema de Administración de las Telecomunicaciones), and ASEP issues an approval letter after reviewing documents and reports.
Application documents, product technical documents, and reports issued by internationally accredited testing laboratories (ITU, FCC, ETSI, etc.) are required. There are no special marking or labeling requirements.
