PSQCA
Pakistan Standard & Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) is Pakistan’s Standards and Quality Management Certification. PSQCA administers the Pakistan Standard Certification Mark scheme for compulsory items in Pakistan. The compulsory items need to comply with the standards for certification and mark the Pakistan Standard Certification Mark on the product. Once an application is accepted, a preliminary factor inspection and sample tests are conducted; if it meets all the standards and is appropriate, certification marks and licenses are issued within 30 days. Products sold in the market would be conducted with quarterly factory inspection, sample inspections and random market sample inspections.

Certification procedure:

1) The applicant submits the application to the conformity assessment supervisor (2 days)
2) Initial factory inspection for manufacturer's production line and quality evaluation
3) Supervisors would collect samples and test them in the manufacturing factory or at the laboratory (1-2 days)
4) After examining all documents and test results, certification mark and license are issued (30 days)
5) Post-inspection
6) Quarterly factory inspection, sample test and market sample inspections.
PTA
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is Pakistan’s communication authentication. According to Pakistan’s telecommunications Act 1996, Section 29, telecommunications equipment and equipment connected to the PSTN must obtain a certificate of conformity from the PTA. PTA issues a certificate of conformity if the product is suitable for sales and access to public telecommunication networks.

An application for a certificate of conformity can be made by the manufacturer or an official import; if an official importer or a representative applies, a written permission (permission to apply for a certificate of conformity and permission to sell) from the manufacturer must be submitted together. Each model needs its own new application to be submitted and when the model of the device is amended, the applicant must file a new application for a new certificate of conformity.

PTA also accepts EME/EMI, safety and functional test reports issued by international accredited testing laboratories or by designated testing laboratories worldwide. Additionally PTA has the right to re-evaluate and retest the product if necessary.
