ST CoA
Standards and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM)

SIRIM is a system which manufacturers/importers check and certify if their product meets the technical standard set by Malaysia through a third-party certification body. Most of the products are voluntarily certified, but for some products regulated by the government are compulsorily needed for certification. Before obtaining SIRIM certification, for compulsory regulated items, a Certificate of Approval must be applied and obtained from the Malaysian Energy Commission (ST).

From October 2010, CoA application to the Malaysian Energy Commission was changed to an online application system, and qualification to apply is limited to Malaysian local importers only. Importers need to register themselves as an importer on the ST website, then only the registered company can apply for the certification online.

After receiving the CoA, SIRM labels can be purchased and attached according to the Product Certification Scheme (PCS) or Batch Testing System (BTS)
