Centre d'Etudes et de Recherche des Télécommunications : The Research and Studies Telecommunications Centre (CERT)

CERT is Tunisia's telecommunications certification. All telecommunication terminal equipment or wireless terminal equipment imported to Tunisia must be approved by Tunisian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority; CERT is both a communication equipment approval body and a telecommunications research center, which provides diverse tests such as EMC test, electricity test, radio test, etc. All subjected devices must be CERT tested.

Communication devices and low-power and short-range wireless terminal devices are subject to type approval. Devices not classified as a low-power and short range wireless terminal devices not only need CERT certification but also need approval from a national frequency agency, ANR (Bureau de l’Agence Nationale des Fréquences).
CERT certificates are divided into certificates of approval for communication products (Certificat d’Homologation) and certificates of conformity for imports (Certificat de Conformite), and both certificates must be obtained for final import.

For the approval certificate, an application form, a certificate of origin, and technical documents (written in Arabic, French or English) must be submitted. If there are no problems after receiving the application, the approval letter will be issued within 10 days.

For certification of conformity, CERT approval certificate, device purchase order, customs entry and temporary ban notice, device technical specifications, and ANF approval for wireless terminal devices must be submitted. If there are no problems after receiving the application, the approval letter will be issued within 10 days.
