CHAEVI-Technopuc
Continuing the actions to strengthen electric mobility in Rio Grande do Sul and in the country, PUCRS signed a contract with one of the largest manufacturers of charging stations for electric vehicles. The South Korean company Chaevi chose the PUCRS Scientific and Technological Park (Tecnopuc) to expand its activities in the Brazilian market. On the occasion, the company also installed two charging stations on the Campus.
According to the Brazilian Association of Electric Vehicles (ABVE), between January and October 2022, 114 different models of light electrified vehicles (hybrid and plug-in electric) were licensed in Brazil. With the electric mobility segment in constant growth, different actions have been promoted by PUCRS to actively participate in this development scenario: from connections with national and international innovation ecosystems, the promotion of research and mobilization in universities to the creation of E-mobility , a battery safety and performance testing laboratory being implemented on the Campus. On 11/30, a meeting to discuss the first public policies for electric cars in Rio Grande do Sul was held on Campus. The meeting was attended by representatives of public authorities, companies, universities and specialists in the field.
The coming of Chaevi's operation to PUCRS is an initiative of Labelo and Plug Future Mobility – a Tecnopuc hub whose purpose is to promote the union of different actors in society that seek solutions, services and products for new mobility models. The University believes that the characteristics of an environment for training professionals, research, innovation and connection to different actors in society are perfect for the materialization of actions in this area. At this time, Chaevi will be present at the Technological Park in the softlanding modality, in which the company studies the Brazilian market and starts to develop relationships with new partners and clients in Brazil.
