The third day of the "The Experience of Korea E-mobility" event ushered in a dynamic exploration of electric mobility

Participants embarked on a journey to Yeonggwang-gun, situated in the Jeonnam Province, where they were hosted by Cevo Mobility Co, the driving force behind the Low-Speed Electric Vehicle (LSVECevo C SE – a prominent electric microcar in Korea.


The third day of the "The Experience of Korea E-mobility" event ushered in a dynamic exploration of electric mobility, centered around field visits that offered a pragmatic view into the industry's cutting-edge developments and e-mobility automobile research, test, and verification.

Participants embarked on a journey to Yeonggwang-gun, situated in the Jeonnam Province, where they were hosted by Cevo Mobility Co, the driving force behind the Low-Speed Electric Vehicle (LSVECevo C SE – a prominent electric microcar in Korea. Mr. Roh Seungkuk, Cevo's Head Office & Factory representative, delivered an informative presentation covering the company's history, key features of the CEVO C SE, and its international market expansion plans.

Following the presentation, the attendees were provided with an exclusive opportunity to delve into the LSEV fabrication process. The details of the production were explained, enabling participants to closely examine the vehicle and seek clarifications on this innovative solution. A hands-on experience was offered through a test drive, providing a firsthand feel of Cevo's remarkable experience.

Next to Cevo Mobility Company is located Katech, one of the world's foremost automotive research institutes. The delegation had the privilege of immersing themselves in Katech's facilities under the guidance of PhD Chang-Hyun Jeong, Vice President and Executive Principal Researcher at Jeonnam Division, and PhD HoiYoung Kim, Director and Principal Researcher of the Jeonnam Division R&D Cooperation Office.

The presentation unveiled Katech's historical trajectory, its core objectives, and its present-day operational dynamics. The Jeonnam division, specializing in e-mobility tests and pioneering ventures like flying cars, was highlighted as a hub for new product R&D and EV’s certification. With a focus on continuous improvement, Katech showcased its evolving facilities, including a future EMC Chamber spanning over 20 meters. A guided tour of Katech's premises revealed laboratories dedicated to electric motors, loop testing equipment for electric powertrains, climate chamber testing facilities, and a comprehensive proving ground. This unparalleled exposure demonstrated the apex of automobile research within Katech's domain.
