On a visit to Porto Alegre, the global vice president of LG Electronics -Customer Quality Research Institute , Sunghyung Ji expanded the company's scope of action with PCN Latin America and the LABELO-PUCRS laboratory in the Home Appliances & Air Solution and Home Entertainment segments.
In a ceremony held with the company's global regulatory leader, Sungsoo Kim, the General Director of its manufacturing unit in the Manaus free zone, Jaehwan Kim, and the CEO of the certification body PCN Latin America, Kim Rieffel, an agreement was signed to carry out of certifications and laboratory tests in the area of electromagnetic compatibility.
PCN Latin America's partnership with the LABELO-PUCRS laboratory has stood out for 10 years in the Latin American scenario for its scope in carrying out certifications and tests within the energy efficiency and user safety segments. Recent expansions in the unit's laboratory infrastructure on campus, however, bring new solutions to the country's industrial sector and the Brazilian conformity assessment system.
The assessment of technical requirements, a rite that precedes the access of electronic equipment to the national market, is essential for protecting the telecommunications spectrum and the country's energy matrix, in addition to the safety of society.
PCN looks forward to improving the quality of electrical and electronic products distributed in the Brazilian market through this business agreement with LG Customer Quality Research Institute and PUCRS-LABELO.
On the occasion of the signing of the agreement, the CEO of PCN Latin America, Kim Rieffel, offered training to the delegation on the technical requirements currently applied to the main markets in Latin American countries in the areas of Home Appliances & Air Solution and Home Entertainment. The certificates of conformity issued by the PCN are passports for access to local market.
On the occasion, the local office of the country's local authority was also visited, where market surveillance procedures were explained from a technical point of view.
