SM
National standards of Moldova (SM)

SM is Moldova’s compulsory certification system. Before exporting Low-voltage equipment, pressure vessels, toys, etc. Law No. 235 compulsory certification items must be issued a DoC or CoC in accordance with the requirements of the applicable technical regulations. Moldova's standards consist of European harmonized standards, international standards recognized by EU member states and Moldova's own standards. For items subject to compulsory certification, one of the following appropriate modules or combinations thereof can be applied for each item category, such as CE certification, and DoC or CoC is issued according to the applicable module.

DoC can be issued by the manufacturer or its authorized local agent or importer, and the DoC must specify information about the product specifications, issuer name and contact information, description of product conformity and liability, list of specifications, date and place of publication, and expiration date. DoC must go through the registration process through a certification body.

In the case of CoC, most certification bodies recognize CE reports issued by ILAC testing laboratories. In case of continuous certification (validity period of 3-5 years) a factory audit by the certification body is accompanied. For products whose conformity has been confirmed, the SM mark must be attached to the product itself, packaging materials, and enclosed documents in accordance with applicable technical regulations.
