FMC launches the Experience of Korea E-mobility event

The Future Mobile Center (FMC) organized "The Experience of Korea E-mobility" event today in Heungdeok IT Valley, South Korea, to showcase the country's e-mobility knowledge. Experts from South Korea and delegations from Brazil, Vietnam, South Africa, and Thailand attended the event.


During the first day of the event, the attendees were presented with a video showcasing the work and objectives of the Future Mobile Center (FMC). Following the video, Professor Tongwon Lee, Director of FMC, delivered a welcome speech and introduced the agendas and objectives of the event.

Mr. André da Rocha Ferreira, Principal Research at the FMC, gave the opening keynote at the event. He highlighted the opportunities for emerging economies to adopt electric mobility, emphasizing the importance of public policies and micro mobility solutions.



Dr. Kim Youngil from Ajou Motor College delivered a presentation on workforce development for the electrification of transportation. He highlighted the educational programs offered by more than 7 universities in South Korea, which are aimed at training the necessary workforce for this growing field.

Mr. Benedict Son, CEO of PCN Group, led the discussion with delegates at the meeting. The attendees actively contributed their opinions on the debated topics.

In the afternoon session, Mr. Kim MinKook, CEO of PCS Company Co., presented smart grid solutions and the challenges of integrating diverse energy sources, particularly renewable sources. He showed how these products can be interconnected with e-mobility, showcasing the possibility of vehicle charging through solar energy and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) solutions.

Professor Hwang JongKook gave the final presentation of the day, which focused on battery manufacturing. He covered the basics of battery function, manufacturing, and materials, and then discussed the applications of batteries for electric vehicles.

The event was attended by delegations from universities PUCRS and UNICAMP universities in Brazil, Hust university of Vietnam, CSIR of South Africa, and TAI of Thailand.

The event will launch from August 7 until August 17 to provide a comprehensive overview of South Korea's successful experience in electric mobility. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experts in the field, visit leading companies, and exchange knowledge with other countries. This event is a unique opportunity to learn about South Korea's success in electric vehicle adoption and to collaborate with the country on cleaner and more efficient transportation solutions.
