Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (SUTEL). SUTEL is Costa Rica's telecommunications superintendency. Depending on the device, Costa Rica's equipment approval (Homologación de equipos) procedure is divided into two types; Devices which are connected to the mobile telephone network and the devices using regional frequencies. When exporting these devices, device approval is compulsorily required. As Costa Rica’s Telecommunications Authority, SUTEL will review the documents then certify the device approval.
