TISI is a standard specification system operated for industrial products. Beside its general purpose of consumer protection, its main purpose is to improve the quality competitiveness of Thai products. Domestic and foreign manufacturers which manufacture products which belong in TISI compulsory certification list must apply and receive TISI approval before labeling the products for custom clearance and sales. TISI Voluntary is a certification mark which can be applied voluntarily. For the protection of Thai industries, the Ministry of Industry of Thailand doesn’t grant foreign manufacturers the right to apply for this. Since it can only be applied by modestic manufacturers in Thailand, it is not compulsory as a mark. However many distributors are requesting manufacturers to acquire the self-certification mark.
NBTC is Thailand’s Wireless and Telecom certification. Telecommunications equipment imported and sold to Thailand requires test report reviews and approval of certification from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission. The diagram above shows a labeling for Class A equipment; it requires testing by the NBTC Office, NBTC certification and labeling. EGAT is Thailand’s Energy certification. Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) are required for certain products. For labeling, manufacturers must test their products. It is encouraged for other products to be voluntarily labeled under EGAT's Demand Side Management Program. Target Product: Refrigerator, Air-conditioner, Electric Fan, Compact fluorescent tube, Rice cooker, Electric kettle, Water heater, Electric irons, Washing machine, LED Lighting, etc.
