On the fifth day of the "The Experience of Korea E-mobility" event, participants embarked on a fascinating journey into the heart of cutting-edge technology and safety standards. The focal point of the day was a visit to the distinguished Korean Test Laboratory (KTL), a global leader in testing and validating various aspects of new-age mobility.

This excursion offered a unique opportunity for attendees to gain an in-depth understanding of the intricate technical safety and efficiency standards that govern the development of batteries and vehicle chargers crucial to the electric mobility landscape. First, presentations were held by Mr Kim Jin-yong, Director/Chief Engineer of Global Testing & Certification Center, who provided detailed insights into technical standards for electric mobility components, and Mr Yoon Sang-wook, Director/Chief Engineer of RF Application Technology Center, who delved into matters concerning EMC tests in electric vehicles, providing intricate insights into the rigorous technical standards that underpin the realm of electric mobility.

During the visit, the delegation was granted access to the inner workings of KTL's advanced facilities. Of particular interest were the specialized sections dedicated to Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) tests. These tests play a pivotal role in ensuring that electric vehicles (EVs) and their components can seamlessly coexist with the complex electronic environment of the modern world, without causing or succumbing to electromagnetic interference.

In the afternoon session, the exploration extended to the remarkable K-City-Based, an autonomous vehicle testing track overseen by the Korea Automobile Testing & Research Institute (KATRI). Here, the participants were welcomed by Senior Researcher Min Sung Kim, an expert in the field of autonomous driving. In a captivating display, Mr. Kim unveiled the inner workings of the autonomous vehicle laboratory, offering an up-close encounter with state-of-the-art equipment meticulously designed to ensure the safety and reliability of autonomous driving technology. This immersive exposure left participants with a profound appreciation for the meticulous standards and innovative practices that are being implemented to usher in the era of autonomous vehicles, promising a safer and more efficient future for transportation.
